Password length
It’s absolutely lovable if a service limits the maximum password length but doesn’t tell you while registering. It just truncated the password, but doesn’t do it on login, so the login fails.
It’s 2025 and services still limit password lengths … and sometimes fail to even notify the user. 🤦🏻♂️

Switch S3 storage
Currently switching my S3 storage from Backblaze B2 to Intercolo i3, as part of removing reliability from US companies (Intercolo is hosted in Germany). And because performance was a problem the recent time (failed or hanging uploads).
It took me a while to find a provider with similar overall prices, but currently, uploads work just fine via
rclonein the first free month. And it has statistics!!! 😍As backup storage, it seems fine. Can’t tell you more at the moment.

Updated “Now” page
After a little over two weeks, I could finally update my now page, since the last to-do, updating all of my plugins to make them officially compatible with WordPress 6.8, is done.
Next up: plugin refactoring.

I already thought about using this #WordPress instance, which is connected via #ActivityPub, with “Enable Mastodon App” by @alex, and since he wrote about it today (https://alex.kirk.at/2025/04/24/wordpress-as-a-refuge-from-algorithms/) I took the chance and installed it!
